Gym Leader #4: Morty - Ghost

Morty has four Pokemon; Gastly, Haunter, Haunter and Gengar. His gym is simple, when you battle each of the Mediums, they will blow out their candles so that you can't see the path. You need to memorise the path before the battle otherwise you will fall in to the storm depths below.

Gastly

Level: 21

Types: Ghost/Poison

Ability: Levitate

Attacks: Lick, Spite, Mean Look & Curse

Weakness: Psychic, Ghost & Dark

Strategy: Gastly is pretty weak, but Curse can be annoying throughout the battle.

Haunter

Level: 21
Types: Ghost/Poison
Ability: Levitate
Attacks: Hypnosis, Dream Eater, Nightmare & Curse
Weakness: Psychic, Ghost & Dark
Strategy: Pack Awakenings to avoid Haunter's Hypnosis & Dream Eater/Nightmare Combo.

Haunter
Level: 23
Types: Ghost/Poison
Ability: Levitate
Attacks: Sucker Punch, Night Shade, Mean Look & Curse
Weakness: Psychic, Ghost & Dark
Strategy: Not too tough but can be annoying with Curse.

Gengar
Level: 25
Types: Ghost/Poison
Ability: Levitate
Attacks: Hypnosis, Shadow Ball, Mean Look & Sucker Punch
Weakness: Psychic, Ghost & Dark
Strategy: Gengar is quiet bulky, packing Shadow Ball, it can hit hard as well. More than likely putting you to sleep and then sweeper with Shadow Ball.

Once you defeat Morty, you will get TM 30 Shadow Ball and the Fog Badge.

Morty

Gym Leader #3: Whitney - Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver

Gym Leader #3: Whitney - Normal

Whitney has two Pokemon; Clefairy and Miltank. Her gym is simple, just make your way round the top of the wall, then across the floor to Whitney. If you are having troubles, you can trade a Drowzee for a Machop - the Machop can make mince meat of the Normal-Types in the gym.

Clefairy

Level: 17

Types: Normal

Ability: Cute Charm

Attacks: Double Slap, Mimic, Encore & Metronome

Weakness: Fighting

Strategy: Avoid physical attacks to not fall in love. Mimic will copy one of your moves and Encore will make you keep attacking with the same attack. Clefairy can be annoying.

Miltank

Level: 19
Types: Normal
Ability: Scrappy
Attacks: Rollout, Attract, Stomp & Milk Drink
Weakness: Fighting
Strategy: Miltank is bulky and beastly especially this early in the game. Rollout will get more and more powerful after every move. Attract will make your Male Pokemon fall in love with Miltank, Stomp is powerful and can make you flinch and Milk Drink will heal its Health Points. Also Miltank's Ability Scrappy allow it to hit Ghost-Types which is annoying - because it destroyed by Gastly really quickly.

Once you defeat Whitney, you will get TM 45 Attract and the Plain Badge.

Whitney

Gym Leader #2: Bugsy - Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver

Gym Leader #2: Bugsy - Bug

Bugsy has three Pokemon; Metapod, Kakuna and Scyther. Her gym is simple, you need to ride the Giant Spinaraks around the rope to each trainers were you can pull the lever to make the ropes slack. The Giant Spinaraks can't travel along the slack ropes.

Metapod

Level: 15

Types: Bug

Ability: Shed Skin

Attacks: Tackle

Weakness: Flying, Rock & Fire

Strategy: Metapod can't really do much at all, easy to take out.

Kakuna

Level: 15
Types: Bug/Poison
Ability: Shed Skin
Attacks: Poison Sting
Weakness: Psychic, Fire, Flying & Rock
Strategy: Kakuna can't really do much either, it can poison you though.

Scyther

Level: 17
Types: Bug/Flying
Ability: Technician
Attacks: Quick Attack, Leer, U-Turn & Focus Energy
Weakness: Ice, Electric, Fire, Flying & Rock
Strategy: Scyther will probably use Leer to weaken your defences and then hit hard with U-Turn, a Pokemon will high Defences would be the best here.

Once you defeat Bugsy, you will get TM 89 U-Turn and the Hive Badge.

Bugsy

Apricorns and Poke Balls - Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver

Once you have defeat Team Rocket for the first time at the Slowpoke Well, Kurt, the creator of Poke Balls will offer to trade Apricorns for Pokeballs. Apricorns can be harvested from Apricorn Trees which are scattered through the game. Different Apricorns will create different Poke Balls.

(Black) Blk Apricorns - Heavy Ball - Better for Heavier Pokemon

(Blue) Blu Apricorns - Lure Ball - Better for Pokemon hooked by a Fishing Rod

(Green) Grn Apricorns - Friend Ball - Makes a Pokemon more Friendly

(Pink) Pnk Apricorns - Love Ball - Better for Pokemon of the opposite gender, but same species

(Red) Red Apricorns - Level Ball - Better for Lower-Levelled Pokemon

(White) Wht Apricorns - Fast Ball - Better for Faster Pokemon

(Yellow) Ylw Apricorns - Moon Ball - Better for Pokemon that evolve with a Moon Stone

Kurt will take time to create the Poke Balls, so I recommend getting Kurt's Number so you can be notified when the Poke Balls are ready to be collected.

Gym Leader #1: Falkner - Pokemon Soul Silver and Heart Gold

Gym Leader #1: Falkner - Flying

Falkner has two Pokemon; Pidgey and Pidgeotto. His gym is easy, in fact if you don't want to fight any of the trainers, you can walk around them on the glass blocks.

Pidgey

Level: 9

Types: Normal/Flying

Ability: Keen Eye

Attacks: Tackle & Sand Attack

Weakness: Electric, Ice & Rock

Strategy: A Quick Attack or Bite a fast physical attack will work the best.

Pidgeotto

Level: 13
Types: Normal/Flying
Ability: Keen Eye
Attacks: Tackle, Roost & Gust
Weakness: Electric, Ice & Rock
Strategy: Pidgeotto can be annoying, especially with Roost healing his Health Points back up. I recommend trading a Bellsprout for an Onix with a boy in the Trainer School if you are finding it tough. The Onix has Rock Throw which will take out the Pidgeotto easily.

Once you defeat Falkner, you will get TM 51 Roost and the Zephyr Badge.
