Gym Leader #15: Blaine - Fire

Blaine has three Pokemon; Magcargo, Magmar & Rapidash. As the Cinnabar Island Gym was destroyed by the volcano, the gym has moved to the Seafoam Island. Blaine is in the middle of the gym, with the route being blocked by Scientist Trainers, they will take a step backwards when defeated, this can block a route to Blaine if you are not paying attention.

Magcargo

Level: 54

Types: Fire/Rock

Ability: Flame Body

Attacks: Overheat, Sunny Day, Smog & Rock Slide

Weakness: Water, Fighting, Rock & Ground

Strategy: It is holding a White Herb to recover from the Special Attack Drop from Overheat, but a solid Water-Type will work well.

Magmar

Level: 54
Types: Fire
Ability: Flame Body
Attacks: Thunder Punch, Confuse Ray, Overheat & Sunny Day
Weakness: Ground, Rock & Water
Strategy: It is holding a White Herb to recover from the Special Attack Drop from Overheat, but a solid Ground-Type will work well, as Thunder Punch counters Water-Types.

Rapidash

Level: 59
Types: Fire
Ability: Flash Fire
Attacks: Quick Attack, Bounce, Overheat & Flare Blitz
Weakness: Ground, Rock & Water
Strategy: It is holding a White Herb to recover from the Special Attack Drop from Overheat, but a solid Ground or Water-Type will work well.

Once you defeat Blaine, you will get TM 50 Overheat and the Volcano Badge.
