Ditto can not be caught in the wild. Ditto will take the appearance of random Pokemon, thanks to its one move it can learn "Transform". The Pokemon Ditto can transform into are:
Pidgey
Rattata
Zubat
Ghastly
Magikarp
Mankey
Yanma
Hoothoot
Sentret
Zigzagoon
Taillow
Gulpin
Whismur
Remoraid
Once you have caught the random Pokemon, Ditto will reveal itself once it enters your Pokemon Bank, or Pokedex if you haven't obtained Ditto before.
