Gym Leader #9: Lt. Surge - Electric

Lt. Surge has five Pokemon; Raichu, Electrode, Electrode, Magneton & Electabuzz. His gym hasn't changed from the original Kanto Games, you need to find two switches in the trash cans, once you have found one, the other will be one switch away from the first. Flicking both switches will allow you access to Lt. Surge.

Raichu

Level: 51

Types: Electric

Ability: Static

Attacks: Thunder Wave, Shock Wave, Quick Attack & Double Team

Weakness: Ground

Strategy: Raichu tends to use Double Team and can make it difficult to attack it, then strike with Shock Wave. Earthquake is the way to go.

Electrode

Level: 47
Types: Electric
Ability: Static
Attacks: Thunder Wave, Double Team, Shock Wave & Light Screen
Weakness: Ground
Strategy: Likes to set up Light Screen & Double Team and be annoying with Thunder Wave. Earthquake is the way to go.

Electrode

Level: 47
Types: Electric
Ability: Static
Attacks: Screech, Double Team, Explosion & Charge Beam
Weakness: Ground
Strategy: It will more than likely just use Screech then Explosion, just as a cheap knock-out. Earthquake is the way to go.

Magneton

Level: 47
Types: Electric/Steel
Ability: Sturdy
Attacks: Supersonic, Double Team, Shock Wave & Mirror Shot
Weakness: Ground, Fighting & Fire
Strategy: Can take care of your part-Rock Types if you are using something like like Onix or Golem, with Mirror Shot. Earthquake is the way to go.

Electabuzz

Level: 53
Types: Electric
Ability: Static
Attacks: Quick Attack, Shock Wave, Light Screen & Low Kick
Weakness: Ground
Strategy: Just there to fill out his team, again and finally an easy knock-out with Earthquake.

Once you defeat Lt. Surge, you will get TM 34 Shock Wave and the Thunder Badge.
