The Pal Park - Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver

Image result for pokemon heartgold and soulsilver logo

In Fuchsia City in Heart Gold and Soul & in Route 221 in Diamond, Pearl & Platinum, you can find the Pal Park. This is kinda like the Safari Zone from previous generations. It holds two purposes; Migrating Pokemon from previous generation to the 4th Generation & Catching Pokemon.

To migrate Pokemon across generations, you need to have your 4th Generation Game in the DS Slot in the top of the Nintendo DS, as well as a 3rd Generation Cartridge in the GameBoy Advanced Slot in the bottom of the Nintendo DS. You are able to transfer 6 3rd Generation Pokemon at a time, which then are able to be caught in the Pal Park, using Park Balls. This is pretty much how you would get Regigigas in Diamond & Pearl.

Once the 6 Pokemon have been transfer into your 4th Generation Game, you will have the ability to catch them in the Catching Show. But the transferred Pokemon are rare to find, also you need to catch them with Park Balls, which work similarly to the Safari Balls. Catching Pokemon in the Catching Contest will raise your score, which, as we all know, points mean prizes - the points can be exchanged for Berries.

Gym Leader #13: Misty - Water

Misty has four Pokemon; Golduck, Quagsire, Lapras & Starmie. Her gym is simple, you will need Surf to battle all the trainers in the Gym, but Misty is sitting on a lifeguards' chair at the far side of the gym.

Golduck
Level: 49
Types: Water
Ability: Damp
Attacks: Water Pulse, Disable, Psychic & Psych Up
Weakness: Grass & Electric
Strategy: Easy Knock Out - a STAB Electric or Grass Type will have an easy time here.

Quagsire
Level: 49
Types: Water/Ground
Ability: Water Absorb
Attacks: Water Pulse, Amnesia, Rain Dance & Earthquake
Weakness: Grass
Strategy: Try not to let Quagsire use Amnesia otherwise it can become pretty tank-y. Fast Grass-Type is the best option.

Lapras
Level: 52
Types: Water/Ice
Ability: Shell Armour
Attacks: Ice Beam, Sing, Water Pulse & Body Slam
Weakness: Grass, Fighting, Electric & Rock
Strategy: I found that Electric and Fighting Type worked best as Ice Beam counters Rock & Grass-Types, I also put a Chesto Berry on my Pokemon so it can instantly wake up from Sleep caused by Sing.

Starmie
Level: 54
Types: Water/Psychic
Ability: Natural Cure
Attacks: Water Pulse, Confuse Ray, Ice Beam & Recover
Weakness: Grass, Bug, Electric, Dark & Ghost
Strategy: Starmie is really annoying with Recover and Confuse Ray so Dark and Bug Types worked best for me.

Once you defeat Misty you will get TM 03 Water Pulse and the Cascade Badge.

Crobat
Level: 47
Types: Poison/Flying
Ability: Inner Focus
Attacks: Confuse Ray, Screech, Wing Attack & Supersonic
Weakness: Psychic, Ice, Electric & Rock
Strategy: Confuse Ray and Supersonic are gonna be annoying really quick, strike fast with something Thunderbolt, Ice Beam, Rock Slide or Psychic.

Weezing
Level: 44
Types: Poison
Ability: Levitate
Attacks: Sludge Bomb, Toxic, Explosion & Double Hit
Weakness: Psychic
Strategy: A STAB Psychic is going to work the best as Ground-Types can't hit you.

Ariados
Level: 47
Types: Bug/Poison
Ability: Insomnia
Attacks: Swagger, Night Shade, Poison Jab & Pin Missile
Weakness: Psychic, Rock, Flying & Fire
Strategy: Moves like Fly or Fire Blast are going to work the best, just watch out for Swagger.

Ariados
Level: 47
Types: Bug/Poison
Ability: Insomnia
Attacks: Psychic, Poison Jab, Screech & Pin Missile
Weakness: Psychic, Rock, Flying & Fire
Strategy: Moves like Fly or Fire Blast are going to work the best.

Venomoth
Level: 50
Types: Bug/Poison
Ability: Tinted Lens
Attacks: Double Team, Psychic, Sludge Bomb & Signal Beam
Weakness: Psychic, Rock, Flying & Fire
Strategy: Rock, Fire or Flying Types are going to work the best, but be quick as Double Team can become really annoying really quickly.

Once you defeat Janine, you will get TM 84 Poison Jab and the Soul Badge.

Sun 4 guards at once by throwing sand in their face - 10

You first need to learn how to throw sand - talk to the Combat Tutorial Teacher in Monteriggioni.

Counted as a Special Move - Unarmed Combat it is free to learn. He will then teach you to lock onto a target and throw sand at your enemies to stun them.

Now you need to find a couple of guards to throw sand at them. I found it easiest to look for a group of 4 guards who are standing around in the street or who are protect a treasure box. If once you have them lined up you can throw sand in their face, stunning them.

This may take a couple of attempts, and it seems like it sometimes just punches them instead.

Messer is Italian for Mister; as well as Mr Sandman being a reference to song sang by The Chordettes, about the folklore or Mr. Sandman who sprinkles sleeping sand over people to put them to sleep.

Perform an Air Assassination on a Poisoned NPC - 20

The Poison Blade is given to Ezio in DNA Sequence 5 by Leonardo da Vinci, with Extra Poison being able to be purchased from Doctors around Italy.

The best way I found to do this is to distract a Guard with some courtesans, close to somewhere you can quickly climb, something like a Guard's Shelter. Then stabbing the guard with the Poison Blade, climbing up and air assassinating the Poisoned Guard.

Gym Leader #11: Erika - Grass

Erika has four Pokemon; Jumpluff, Tangela, Victreebel and Bellossom. Her gym is easy to get through, you need to travel down the right hand side, then walk underneath the flower arch, up to the top, then loop back down and up around on the left hand side. You will need a Pokemon that has learnt Cut to get into and around the gym.

Jumpluff
Level: 51
Types: Grass/Flying
Ability: Chlorophyll
Attacks: Leech Seed, U-Turn, Giga Drain & Sunny Day
Weakness: Flying, Poison, Ice, Fire & Rock
Strategy: Ice-Types will work the best, but Jumpluff will more than likely use U-Turn on it first turn away.

Tangela
Level: 52
Types: Grass
Ability: Chlorophyll
Attacks: Ancient Power, Wring Out, Giga Drain & Sleep Powder
Weakness: Bug, Flying, Poison, Ice & Fire
Strategy: A quick Ice-Type would work the best, as Fire-Types can be countered by Ancient Power.

Victreebel
Level: 56
Types: Grass/Poison
Ability: Chlorophyll
Attacks: Sunny Day, Synthesis, Leaf Storm & Grass Knot
Weakness: Psychic, Ice, Flying & Fire
Strategy: A solid STAB Psychic will not it out really quickly.

Bellossom
Level: 56
Types: Grass
Ability: Chlorophyll
Attacks: Sunny Day, Solar Beam, Giga Drain & Synthesis
Weakness: Bug, Flying, Poison, Ice & Fire
Strategy: Flying-Type will work best as Sunny Day will more than likely be up. Fly or Bounce will be great as you will be able to avoid the Solar Beam as Fly & Bounce both are two turn attacks.
